IEEE HealthCom (on Enterprise Networking and Computing in Healthcare Industry) is an Annual International Event (technically co-sponsored by IEEE Communication Society) that is a forum that brings together clinicians, hospital administrators, software developers, researchers, educators, healthcare system vendors, and consultants to discuss the recent trends and emerging issues in the development and integration of healthcare systems. HeathCom was successfully held in Sydney, Australia in 1999 and 2000, Laquila, Italy in 2001, Nancy, France in 2002, Santa Monica, USA in 2003, Odawara, Japan in 2004 and Busan, Korea in 2005. Moreover, HealthCom 2006 will be held in New Delhi, India, with the theme of "ITU-D Mobile E-health Initiative for Developing Countries". And HealthCom 2007 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, with the expected theme of "Ageing population drives much of the e-health research in the developed world that is expected to have two old persons for every young person in the year 2050. This has led to the new drive on m-health and u-health in the developed world."
